Depending on the feed they get. We are fortunate in winter time to have a lot of fodder, but summertime we have to feed extra grains in the form of mielies, wheat and barley. In my case it takes about plus minus two months longer than caged pigs to be ready for slaughter. On the plus side, the pigs taste better, are healthier and of course, free ranging is much cheaper and brings down the feed costing by almost 75%
Hi Malcolm
ReplyDeleteMy question to you:
How does free roaming affect weight gain/time spent on raising until ready for slaughter
Regards
